Kirik Party has released and has been getting awesome response all over the country. One more popular character which gained immense recognition is Salman Ahmad who plays the role of Senior student at the Engineering College.
Here is our next interview with the “Salman” of KFI, Salman Ahmad adds an awesome comic flavor through his character Povaiah in Kirik Party.
1) WOULD YOU LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO EVERYONE, LIKE YOUR BACKGROUND, WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND HOW DID YOU ENTER THE FILM INDUSTRY?
I am from Kunigal from a well-to-do simple family. My father is a lawyer and mom is a home maker. Films have always been my passion. I wanted to pursue acting, I came to Bangalore, started building contacts and references and looked for chances and opportunities. I got to know about Kirik Party auditions, I tried to give my shot and the best moment was when I got selected.
2) HOW WAS YOUR KIRIK PARTY AUDITION EXPERIENCE?
This was my first Audition. I was really excited with the thought of being a part of a movie along with Rakshit Shetty. At the same time, after registering my name, I was got nervous seeing the heavy participation. My fear of rejection also gave me a thought of going back. That’s when I spoke to my inspiration Thalakadu Gururaj who boosted my confidence and I made up my mind to give my best. And yes, I got selected!
3) WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION WHEN YOU GOT TO KNOW THAT “YOU” WERE SELECTED?
To be honest, the excitement was at its peak. I am so happy to be a part of Kirik Party. I am really amazed with the response the trailer, the songs have got. The team has always been really supportive and I would also take the opportunity to thank Rakshit Shetty & Rishab Shetty to help me perform to the best of my capacity.
4) HOW EXCITED WERE YOU ABOUT KIRIK PARTY?
I got selected in the first round, and Director Rishab Shetty called me in the evening and he asked me to attend the second round. My excitement doubled when I got to know Rakshit Shetty was taking auditions. It was a dream come true moment. We were put in a group of 3 and asked to perform a skit. Along with me, I had Raghavendra and Sreeharsha, and fortunately we all three got selected. My happiness knew no bounds when I got to know that Rakshit Shetty has selected me. To add cherry to the cake, I was excited to play a very interesting character of a lead comic villain called “Poovaiah”.
5) HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THE RAKSHIT SHETTY & RISHAB SHETTY?
I had watched Simpleaag Ondh Love Story, I also attended the audio launch of Ricky, that is the first time I actually had met & interacted with Rakshit Sir, I am amazed with the simplicity that he carries throughout and is the most down-to-earth celebrity one can ever meet. Rishab sir was really supportive, he fined tuned the actor in me, he guided me throughout the film as a friend, as a mentor and a brother. This is an experience that I would cherish for life.
6) WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE ANY FUNNY INCIDENT / MEMORY THAT HAPPENED ON THE SET?
For me the funniest rather happiest moment on the sets was when I was giving my take and Rakshit laughed his heart out by looking at my expressions. It made my day and I was really happy.
7) WHAT’S IN STORE NEXT?
Currently, my focus is on Kirik Party as the film is just released. My character wasn’t much revealed in the trailer and songs but people recognized my character in the film and have got a positive response overall. I am enjoying this success for now.
So your final thoughts?
I would urge everyone to do watch Kirik Party all those who have not watched it, as it’s a total entertainment package. I really thank the team to give me the chance to act in this film.
