Kannada now mandatory for bank employees, learn Kannada or lose your job!
Karnataka government is stepping up pressure on bank officials to learn Kannada. The KANNADA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY has asked banks to gets its officials to learn the language, or to remove them within six months.
Few months back some videos circulated in social media, of some officials talking violently with the customers, demanding the customers to speak in Hindi, which led to outrage in social media. Even protests were held near town hall demanding increase in quota of bank jobs for Kannadigas.
